About Us

Abbadale Park was established as a boarding kennel in the 1950’s. It was set around a parkland setting and a swimming pool converted into a large pond with waterfall. In July 2000 Dan and Kristie Biddle moved into the family home at Abbadale Park with an arrangement with the previous owners to manage Abbadale Park with an option to purchase. In November 2001 Dan and his brother took over as the official new owners of Abbadale Park. In December 2008 Kristie, Dan’s wife purchased Dan’s brother share of the business. Dan, Kristie and their three young children have an exciting vision for Abbadale Park that preserves the peaceful country feel of the property and ensures that every client experiences the very best that we can offer.

Our Team

Dan Biddle

Dan grew up in the Lockyer Valley in Queensland. His parents Bob and Lee Biddle owned and operated kennel, training and breeding facilities in Queensland since Dan was 6 years old. He has been brought up with a love and respect for animals. He never had to look far for a job after school or during school holidays. After leaving school Dan moved to Armadale, NSW to study Psychology and Human Science at the University of New England. Not being one for the financial constraints of university life, he returned to South East Queensland where he undertook a number of jobs including operating his own fencing business, stockman at the Abattoirs and painting Queensland’s iconic ‘Story Bridge’.

In 1994, Dan purchased a property near Lowood, Queensland and established his own kennel facility and mango farm. In 1995 an opportunity came available through a family friend to assist with the setup and operation of a hotel and liquor store in Perth’s northern suburbs of Whitfords. In 1996 Dan met his now wife Kristie.

After returning to Queensland in 1997, Dan became Australia’s youngest ever Racing Manager with his appointment at the Toowoomba Greyhound Racing Club. Dan and Kristie decided to return to Perth in 1999 to assist with Kristie pursuing her career.

After taking on an accounts managers position with a Perth facility management company Dan realised he longed to be in business for himself, ideally involving his passion animal care. It was at this time that Dan discovered that Abbadale Park was for sale and the opportunity to go back to his grass roots of animal care seemed too good to forgo.

In July 2000 Dan and Kristie moved into the family home at Abbadale Park with an arrangement with the previous owners to manage Abbadale Park with an option to purchase. In November 2001 Dan and his brother took over as the official new owners of Abbadale Park. In December 2008 Kristie, Dan’s wife purchased Dan’s brother share of the business.

Dan is the Operations Manager of Abbadale Park, managing the day to day operations of the business and our special guests. Family is very important to Dan and you will more than likely see Dan and his three little helpers (his children) following him throughout the property and office. Dan prides himself on being approachable and welcomes questions and feedback regarding your beloved pets and our facilities, ensuring Abbadale Park maintains its reputation as one of Perth’s premier animal care facilities.

Kristie Biddle

Kristie grew up in Perth’s northern suburbs. She attended Curtin University where she received a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Accounting and Taxation. After meeting Dan in Perth in 1996 she moved to Lowood, Queensland in 1997 after finishing her studies. Dan and Kristie returned to Perth. She started with a small accounting practice in 1999 and moved to a second tier accounting practice in 2000, where she has been employed for over 11 years, currently on a part time basis. Kristie has also finished the CA Program and is a Chartered Accountant.

Dan and Kristie moved into the family home in July 2000 before Dan and his brother purchased Abbadale Park in November 2001. Dan and Kristie were married in 2003 and Kristie gave birth to twins, Lauchlan and Aleisha in 2007. In December 2008 Kristie purchased Dan’s brothers share of the business days before giving birth to their youngest Imogen.

Balancing family, work and their business is important to Kristie. She maintains a financial management role at Abbadale Park and enjoys pottering around the gardens at the property.
